I do get what u mean, and it can be frustrating to see the members get stereotyped the same way over and over. Still though, people who have a more casual interest in loona are gonna naturally see the popular members more and understand them a little better, and have a more casual/stereotyped view of the less popular members. It's definitely hard when you feel like the others deserve just as much attention, so I get it, but please don't be so quick to condemn people who seem to only like the popular members !! it could just be those members are the kind of people they happen to like, or that the less popular members get less love in general so it's harder to find stuff about them and support them in the same way ! If you feel it's unfair, do your best to spread the love of the less popular members !!

Imagine one day a new social trend starts spreading. It’s something unbelievably dumb. Not harmful per de, but truly silly to believe. Let’s say, I dunno, healing crystals start going mainstream. Everybody’s talking about their crystals. It becomes impolite to criticize people who believe in healing crystals. They become a big part of people’s personalities, and people on TV start talking about them, and one day years down the line politicians are debating funding for crystal-based medicine. And through it all you are sitting there going, what the fuck is happening. I thought we were all on the same page on this. You want to get along and be friendly and open minded but you cannot pretend to believe in healing crystals, this is nonsense, and when the topic comes up you refuse to lie about it. This eventually starts to have social consequences—they’re that popular!—but what can you do? You cannot pretend a lump of quartz can cure the flu or whatever. It’s just all so unbearably embarrassing.

I think what the centrist/liberal/center-left reactionary turn driven by culture war stuff feels like. And I think the key emotion is probably cringe. Not hate, not fear, though those emotions may reinforce the turn. I think in a lot of cases people who imagine themselves pretty open minded and flexible have as part of their worldview something they thought was bedrock social consensus—on the level of “healing crystals are silly woo”—so bedrock maybe that it didn’t even need to be a conceptual boundary they actually policed in their minds.

For instance, when she started her anti-trans turn, JK Rowling made a big show of not being really anti trans, just arguing that Some People Had Gone Too Far. She wasn’t a frothing religious reactionary, after all. And I believe that’s probably true! I think Rowling probably did have a mental model of sex and gender with a little bit of give in it—of the “we can humor the odd weirdo” type. But as the discussion of trans rights in the UK got more serious over her lifetime, trans people went from “the odd weirdo” to “a recognized minority,” and eventually this ran against a bedrock belief that on some level men are men and women are women and never the twain shall meet. To act otherwise was just too embarrassing. And she wasn’t going to embarrass herself in the name of political correctness.

Other people whose brains have been eaten by the anti-woke mind virus (as @eightyonekilograms calls it) have something going of the contrarian in them, who enjoys yelling “up yours, woke moralists!” or w/e. Im thinking of ppl like Glenn Greenwald here, or Dave Chapelle, people who seem not to feel alive except when people are mad at them. That’s a separate but interesting dynamic. And there are people like Graham Linehan who become totally unhinged through this process of auto-radicalization, moths drawn ever closer to a particular source of validation within their chosen reactionary subcommunity, until they are truly parodies of themselves. That is also an important dynamic, but it’s one that only takes hold after the initial turn has begun.

I think the role of that feeling of cringe, that refusal to entertain an idea because it is too embarrassing (even if it does actually have a decent body of research behind it, unlike crystals) is important to think about, because I am interested in how to get people over it. I know that feeling has affected my own thinking over my lifetime. I wasn’t raised particularly conservative, but I had to learn not to cringe at a lot of feminist thought before I could appreciate it and learn from it. I explicitly didn’t have that cringe when it came to gay people for whatever reason, so it never entered my mind that it might be a problem. I remember being surprised to learn when I was very young that some boys wanted to marry other boys, but my response was “huh. Go figure.” Because for whatever reason I had not picked up that this was something I was supposed to be grossed out by. A general doctrine of empathy, of trying to understand people on their own terms, can help forestall some of this stuff, but it’s not foolproof in either direction—I don’t want to believe crystals have healing powers if it becomes socially popular to do so, just because it is socially popular to do so! And if they do, I don’t want to not believe they do just because it is socially unpopular!

(Obviously the crystals thing is not a one to one metaphor for the trans thing, so don’t read too much into that. Maybe astrology would have been a better analogy. Also I’m not talking just about people whose reactionary turn is predicated on trans issues—I think this dynamic applies to everything from gay rights to the Tridentine Mass. But trans issues are a handy example bc, as the adage goes, somebody posts once about trans people and they never post anything normal again. I think the classic rapid-onset trans derangement syndrome is closely tied to the fact that gender norms are a really deep element of many people’s social-consensus-based worldview, and so challenged to that worldview are felt as really cringe.)

I’m curious if other people who grew more liberal in their thinking over time had a similar experience of having to overcome what was basically a feeling of embarrassment at certain ideas.

so im curious what DU Drow considers to be too sacred to kill, if anything. I know that durge generally refuses to commit acts of murder that are beneath them, but I wonder if there is a type of victim that IS an appropriate sacrifice to bhaal that he cant bring himself to harm? (This referring to before he lost his memories, though if you have anything you'd wanna say regarding after that too)

This is an interesting question to which I unfortunately don't have a very interesting answer 🤔 and I thought about it for a couple of days too!

Bhaalist DU drow was completely faithful to his father. He did practice a little of the good ol' "what he can't see can't hurt him" school of thought - at least in regards to his masochism and some of his more pointless acts of debauchery,which he justified through being otherwise a very obedient son. Otherwise, there was no separation between his will and Bhaal's; If daddy wanted it done, consider it done. This extends even to Orin, who, if ordered, Bhaalist DU Drow would have killed, even if reluctantly.

One caveat to this, I guess, is that he did not easily accept orders from Sarevok or any of the other bhaalists. If he didn't like the sound of something, he would demand Bhaal confirm it true through a vision, prayer, or otherwise intervened in some way or another. However, his friction was usually originated from DU drow's contrarian personality, not genuine disagreement over what was and wasn't a worthy sacrifice. He truly didn't care about anything or anyone else's lives except his own and Orin's - men, women, children, elderly - the last two were probably a lot less satisfying to kill, but it didn't exactly give him any pause.

I think the only form of life he considered somewhat "sacred" were animals - having lived out in the woods for a long time meant he had an understanding and appreciation for the lawlessness of the wilderness and related to their very base-line needs. He obviously has no issue killing animals for self-defense, supplies or food, but anything else would seem pointless. Humanoids have their gods which they serve - animals do not, hence they shouldn't be brought into this. I don't think this matters though as I doubt Bhaalists make a habit out of offering up deer to their murder lord.

(As a note, in DU drow's campaign I never came across the infamous squirrel scene, hence making this headcanon possible LOL)

ok first of all. maybe sometimes i will feel like drawing wings instead of hands, okay? teehee. all in good fun. these are all how its Supposed to be, generally, but i can bend the rules or edit them as i wish lol !! pupils are also a if-i-feel-like-it thing !!

The Cold

- light blues, icy, cold colours.

- thin, bony, pointy. his 'ears' / tufts stand up straight. sharper beak. etc. mid-length feathers on arms, short on legs.

- thin, long tail with a few feathers at the end

The Contrarian

- warm colours for the most part, potentially some blues or something for contrast. all rather saturated

- puffy feathers.

- simple no-sleeved vest that fits well.

- thin tail with rough, messy feathers that ends with two arrow-shaped ends

The Smitten

- more pinkish, purplish, red sort of colours. potentially rather vibrant and saturated also?

- lots of roundness in his design, including a more curved beak and relatively heart shaped ears. short puffy tail.

- feathers dont reach far on arms or legs

- little dots under eyes

The Opportunist

- blues and purples, perhaps a little orange

- looser shirt, long + big sleeves. deck of cards. plays with the cheated. Often cheats.

- greens, perhaps, greens and browns more neutral, natural colours for camouflage

- orange, yellow.

- overpreens and stuff. lots of bent or broken feathers, occasionally some rather patchy spots. feathers dont have a clean end along his limbs. the others have some bent or broken feathers too of course but he's got it the worst

- is something... more though, in his natural state. similar to how the Shifting Mound is different than the ordinary princess you see. bigger wings, a more monstrous form.

- entirely greyscale

The Narrator

- toothed beak, sharp teeth.

- has a mane. whether thats made of feathers or fur or hair or what? who knows. All that matters is that its soft.

- regular bird tail, regular bird feet.

- paws. sorta similar to a lions?

- might mess with his colours a bit tbh but generally it sticks to dark grey or blueish

a/n: i am running absolutely late with some chapters for magnificently cursed, so i hope you'll take this little excerpt of the story of my oc, Wisteria :) just something short and sweet

also, keep in mind english is not my first language so if u see anything anyhow inocorrect, no u didn't AND as always, im open to feedback so let me know what you think about this fic!

The cold wind blew Wisteria’s hair into her face as she trudged to the Forest House. She had just left her horse in the stables when the rain started. She frowned, looking down at her dress just to find it completely covered in mud. Wisteria groaned, knocking on the manor’s huge doors, and was met with two guards. “My lady” one of them bowed and she stared at him  “Don’t bow to me, Hugo. I’m not High Lady” - that had been a subject Eris could not seem to be able to put down ever since he took over the crown, months ago. But despite their both’s huge efforts to show the citizens of the autumn court that males and females were equal now, the misogyny in the court ran deep. Besides, Wisteria, unlike Eris, was a fighter, a shadow, a spy - not a performer, and the autumn court needed to be ruled by someone with at least somewhat decent social skills, at least according to Wisteria. 

She huffed making her way up the stairs.Gods, she’s never been this exhausted. This mission lasted more than a week, longer than any she had been on ever since Eris became High Lord. But the smaller villages still needed help, and she was trying to snuff out what the smaller lords of the counties thought of her lover’s rule. 

He had better be home, she thought as she opened up the door to their bedchambers. “Ah there you are” her lover approached her with a small smile “Gods, you look horrible” he stared her up and down “Good to see you too, pumpkin” she mumbled at him and he, as always when she would call him that, huffed in shock at the nickname and clutched a hand to his chest. His hair was a little overgrown, just like Wisteria liked it, and he was wearing a forest green shirt, the first few buttons undone. He gathered up some of the rain drops off her cheek “Good to have you back” he kissed her forehead and made to take the completely soaked through coat off her shoulders. He went to the bathroom to run her a bath as she made her way into their bedroom, where she was met with three of Eris’ ghost hounds. They ran up to her while Wisteria started to take the daggers off herself. “Hello, my little loves, hello” she murmured to them sweetly, petting them. “You know, the view this court has on you would change drastically if they saw how soft you get with them” Eris chuckled from the door “And they’d end up with a dagger in their heart before they even thought about spreading that information around” she replied, not even looking up from her corset, which she had trouble unlacing.��

The High Lord was quite right, though. When they met, centuries ago, her - a young girl Beron had acquired to train as spymaster, him - a spoiled princeling, thinking he owned the world, she despised him, and he loved to constantly tease her with all his contrarian shit. That was when their friendship began, but even despite them knowing each other for so long, in the face of Beron’s abuse, Wisteria had put up walls taller than those of the Forest House. Rough at the surface, but as the plans of the former High Lord’s demise were nearing and a vision of peace, at last, began approaching, Eris managed to cut through like a knife.

 And they knew each other, better than the stars knew the sky and the moon knew the sun. More than they knew themselves. And they vowed to protect each other’s hearts, at all cost. Even when the whole Prythian thought it knew them - based solely on the sorry masks they put on in front of prying eyes. Their love and the quiet they could give each other in the dark of the night, by the hearth, the devotion in their longing stares during all those grotesque balls - now no longer secret, was enough. No one, except for Eris and Wisteria, knew anything about them, and that provided comfort neither of them had ever dreamed of deserving, accomplishing. 

“By the mother I despise this thing” Wisteria huffed and looked up to meet Eris’ russet eyes. “Well, what are you waiting for? Come here and help me” she gestured towards herself, exasperated. He smiled, slightly shaking his head as he walked to her. “Demanding woman” he murmured, standing behind her “Just as you like me” Wisteria replied, meeting his gaze in the mirror in front of them. Eris hummed, placing a light kiss on her shoulder as he started unlacing her bodice. “Why do you keep wearing this if you despise it so much?” “It looks pretty” was his lover’s reply, in a tone as if it was the most obvious matter in the universe. After finishing up with Wisteria’s corset, Eris lowered to his knees in front of her. “Allow me, my love” he said as he took off both of her boots and went to part her mud-covered skirts. He started unstrapping the daggers at her thighs, and she tangled her fingers in the lordling’s hair. He hummed in contentment and for a few moments, the only sounds in the chambers were the flickering of wood in the fireplace and daggers clattering down to the wooden floors. Well, and the uneven breathing of three cheery dogs, now laying around the couple. It seemed that not only Eris and Wisteria could keep up masks to the public, as the hounds were scary and aggressive to any stranger, but would completely switch demeanors when either the High Lord or his spymaster would enter the room.

Wisteria smiled down at her man as he finished up his work. “I missed you, you know” she tugged on his red hair, getting his attention. He looked up at her, his eyes aflame “I know, I missed you too” Eris said, slowly rising from his knees to kiss her face, now ushering her to the bathroom. “Come now, the water will get cold” and as Wisteria started walking, Eris took notice of her slumped shoulders and faltering steps. He took her into his arms, carrying her to the bathing chambers “Touch starved, are we now?” she glared at him “Excuse me, you were gone for a whole week, and I am only a man” he reasoned “You’re excused then, pumpkin” Wisteria chuckled lightly. 

 At the beginning of their relationship, Eris really despised Wisteria’s missions. But she was running the small group of spies she had gathered for autumn in her centuries as spymaster, and he trusted her. Not only that - his lover was definitely a much better fighter than him, which she would probably always find amusing, but Eris still worried for her. He always would. 

He helped her bathe and wash her hair. Taking care of her was something he’d always cherish doing. For so long he didn’t allow himself to care for anyone at all, but Wisteria kept blurring out his periphery, passing by so carelessly as she always would - her presence in a room more noticeable than anyone else’s. For him, at least, that is - for the other courtiers seemed never to notice her, just as she wanted. That, he could never fathom, how someone could just be unaware of her. Her with the thousands of daggers strapped to her body at all times, with her completely inappropriate dresses - for she would usually make them herself and wear the corset on top of the underskirts - a fashion choice she insisted on for centuries. Her with her ability to appear and disappear in front of him during balls, suddenly seen with a goblet of wine or picking her nails with a dagger and the next minute gone, not to be seen until maybe weeks later, her with her unpredictability of going off for her own adventures in the middle of the night or suddenly befriending the bastard Rhysand’s inner circle. Her with her unapproachability and constant frowning that seemed to scare everyone off, but not him, never him. And the way she always knew the right thing to say, on nights where Beron would hurt him particularly badly - Wisteria would find words of comfort that managed to magnificently stitch up his wounds, time and time again. He didn’t think there was ever someone more intelligent than her, not in all of Prythian, not in all of time. He was utterly and completely at the woman’s mercy, and he had absolutely no intention of ever breaking free. 

The two made their way into the bedchamber, only to find their hounds splayed on the bed, swinging their tails around happily. Wisteria heard Eris sigh from behind her and chuckled. She made her way under the covers, sitting up in bed to braid her wet hair while Eris threw some more wood into the fire. He soon got in next to her, taking the strands of her dark hair from her and gesturing for her to turn around. He finished braiding it, tying it off with a ribbon. “Thank you, love” she mumbled, throwing herself down into the covers. Eris did not reply, instead gazing down at her form and engulfing her into his arms. The exhaustion from the mission quickly kicked into her as she turned to hide her face in his chest. He smoothed out her hair and kissed her forehead, and soon they both were asleep. 

There, in the Forest House, once a place of horror and fear, love and hope for happiness bloomed. They both knew they were safe and sound, as long as they had each other’s arms to find a home in. One of the dogs yawned and wood cracked in the fireplace as a couple still burning candles casted some warm light into the bedroom. Outside, the moon and stars shone down on the manor, as if guarding the couple, protecting their love, the rain pattered onto the windowsills rhythmically and a piece of ivy bloomed on the stone walls of the house.

its more for people looking for a replacement for twitter, since now that place is overrun with AI and bots and trolls and right wingers and misery and now they changed how the block feature worked, and EVERYONE hated that

if you ask me, i dont really understand why people dont just come back to tumblr. it has everything art communities keep asking for: the ability to edit posts, highly craftable blogs and posts for presentation purposes, a huge character limit, a robust tagging system that you can use for either sorting your own work on your blog or to get more eyes on it in tags, or to better hide things you dont like. its great.

but idk. the porn rules still really turn a lot of people off, even though naughty work is allowed here again so long as its cropped or censored or what have you.

so, Tumblr, I think, is still the best place to be if tumblr is what you want.

Bluesky is the current best "twitter killer" if you're specifically looking to fill that hole. Ive been on it for about a year or so because the furry community claimed it first, but every time Musk does something fucking moronic, more people go "hey wait, this place IS pretty neat" and join the party.

i dont fully agree with how blocking works there either, but so far I havent had a problem... (you can find out who is blocking you, which makes me uneasy. I like to have a little privacy, not everything I do online needs to be on display on my profiles. I personally dont even like when my 'likes' are public, another win for tumblr. but you cant win them all. unless you're on tumblr and dont mind not posting porn, then tumblr has it all. but I DIGRESS......)

but on Bluesky, you can: use tags in a similar way as you do on tumblr, to organize your own work or use it for discoverability. you can have slightly more control over the interactivity of your post (same as here, where you can limit comments. You can disable quote posting, but you cant stop people from "retweeting" though, which is a shame. I enjoy being able to nuke the ability to reblog my more intimately personal posts on tumblr, but its something.)

And, kind of like custom tags, you can create custom "feeds." You can use these feeds to discover other people's work out there, or you can use them for people to sort through your stuff too. I have one for only my art and Werepire AU so far. like this:

And in general, the community SO FAR seems dedicated to keeping the space more positive, since rage bait and contrarianism and infighting runs rampant on twitter. theres a little bit more typing room for nuanced thoughts on bluesky, people are more willing to have mature discussions, at least from what I can tell in the circles im in. you're less at risk for aggressive randos to show up in your space because its not algorithm based, its based solely on who you follow (yayyyy!!) or the feeds you subscribe to.

Also just the fact that most people on the platform right now are just excited they can share art and say things without 200 bots swarming to their posts, or the twitter algorithm stomping their work into the dirt because they posted a link, had too long of a caption, had too many hashtags, too LITTLE hashtags, said unknown tweet-suppressing words, or it was in a thread, or NOT in a thread, etc etc etc etc etc

omg yayy okay so there's not a masterpost as of now (though there is a google doc in the works that will probably be. very big) BUT i will try to give a brief rundown. underneath a readmore 👍

OK SO. IN SUMMARY

MARY BELL TOWNSHIP: more like mary bell CLOWNSHIT ha ha. heavy surveillance like everywhere (including in peoples homes. how fun). it's also got some like radiation stuff going on. all the residents are a lil radiation poisoned But it's mostly fine. also the town moves and i dont know why.

VANNIE OVERTURE: based on suburbia overture. the mayor who is a vampire. major control freak. sucks shit. like most of the reason mary bell is the way it is. permasmile swag. has killed before. hates when people are weird freaks and is actively passive aggressive if not outright aggressive.

TRIP LETWO: based on 2econd 2ight 2eer. world's silliestguy contrarian and infamous public nuisance. deeply tortured individual but shes dealing with it i guess. physically cant leave mary bell township. he has too much goddamn lore

LYDIE LAPLACE: based on laplace's angel. so lame. just deeply lame. killed a guy and got kicked out of office building heaven (laplace's inc. id give this its own section but it doesnt really matter all that much). i dont ever think about it unfortunately im sorry women.

MINA BYRD: based on i/me/myself. very sweet very nice. ladybugpilled socialanxietycel. doesnt have a whole lot going on but she is nice im glad shes there. im gonna have a significant relationships section of this but im saying that shes roommates with lia here bc its not really significant otherwise

WALTER LEE: based on ...well, better than the alternative. worlds first cis father to be a butch lesbian. probably a girl but she doesnt know that. weird nostalgia issues so bad his wife left him.

DOTTY LEE: ten years old. strange little girl but i dont really think about it a lot. not much else to say about her really.

LIA CRATES: based on outliars and hyppocrates. her name is pronounced like lie-uh cray-tees not lee-ah crayts. i have to clear this up because i realized most people were wrong LMAO. a little mean but not so much when you get to know her.

WARREN LEARY: based on blackboxwarrior. actually the worst therapist you will EVER meet. isnt even licensed. you book a session with her and she only talks about herself the entire time. constantly referencing a dark and contradictory past.

MARSHA TILLIS: based on marsha, thankk you for the dialectics. slightly better therapist! still not that good. has the spirit of an old man despite being in his 40s. will begin to psychoanalyze your behavior upon the first thirty seconds of knowing you.

NORMAN LEE: based on love, me normally. guy trying really really hard to be a regular guy. has a loooot of problems that stem from this. hugest people pleaser the world has ever known. a little bit offputting. has hair symbolism :-)

MORTIMER: based on memento mori. doesn't have a last name. worlds silliest grim reaper death thing. works in the death division for laplace's inc. lived a pretty normal life. then it died :-(. more here

FERN O'DYNAMIC: based on thermodynamic lawyer. hates his bitch wife (who is a praying mantis for. unknown reasons? will elaborate). just has a lot of anger inside him and doesnt know how to deal with it so he takes it out on other people. he kind of sucks but he's a neat character.

MIRANDA WRIGHT: the person being sung about in thermodynamic lawyer. bug wife (i can blame anything on radiation). she wasnt always a bug she just kinda did that idk. there's not much about her but she's an etymologist.

COTARD LETWO: based on cotard's solution. she has so many problems oh my gooood. deeply lonely person. fascinated with the macabre. its like coping mechanism that makes you worse. im insane about her writing a basic description is so difficult fkdjsfhsjd

RAMONA MCLAREN: based on red moon + hand me my shovel (though the latter was included later on bc it fit her). worlds most intelligent and stupid single celled organism. patheticswag. absolutely batshit insane. attempting to solve the end of the world.

KUIPER SUNSHINE: based on dr sunshine is dead. uh. i dont really know much about her to be honest SORRY... its really silly though + haver of prophetic dreams that she is NOT transparent about. fucks with people a lot just for funsies

COLIN THESIER: based on cover this song. girl who used to be in a band but got kicked out bc of friend drama. survivor of a toxic codependent queer friendship. trying to be a better person bc she used to suck pretty bad unfortunately. a bit more here

theres like a couple more characters but none of them are really important enough to give their own sections. debbie letwo is trip and cotards mom, laplace is the head of laplace's inc, maude is walter's ex wife who left him (heres the scoop on that).

OK NOTABLE CHARACTER DYNAMICS TIME:

VANNIE/NORMAN: norman has been pretending to be a normal dude this whole time + vannie totally fell for it. normans stuck in this friendship bc hes too much of a people pleaser to break it off even though vannie actively drains him emotionally. also he feels validated by vannie thinking hes normal. its so awful im so insane about their dynamic

VANNIE/TRIP: THEY HAAAATE EACH OTHER. their entire core beliefs are at odds (guy who thinks everyone should do their best to conform vs. guy who loves being a weird freak and doing fuck all). their dynamic is honestly pretty simple in comparison but theyre so petty and stupid its insane. if you put them alone in the same room one of them isnt coming out

TRIP/NORMAN: theyre gay together. there's a weird lore thing about the way relationships are handled in mary bell but long story short theres paperwork that has to be filled out if you want to be registered for one and trip thinks its really funny for xem and norman to constantly break up so they'll have to fill out the paperwork because it fucks with vannie. theyre also kind of awful and tragic

WALTER/DOTTY: that is a father and his daughter. walters trying his best and hes doing well but nothing would have been better than just moving out of mary bell township to raise his child.

WALTER/NORMAN: they’re brothers 👍 not much else to say there but they’re cool

WALTER/MAUDE: already linked a more in-depth explanation of their deal but ill summarize it here. maude thought living in mary bell township was really bad for a child (and it is) but since walter has issues about idealizing his childhood he was like "whaaat well i was raised here and im fine" and they fought about it and once it became clear walter wasnt changing his mind maude figured shed just spare herself from all of it. so she left 💯

WARREN/MARSHA: what if the two worst therapists ever were queerplatonic and violated hipaa together. also what if one of them [marsha] was helping the other [warren] because they're on the run from the law. would that be crazy or what

FERN/MIRANDA: actually awful. they really want to divorce but trip and norman keep clogging up the paperwork so theyre on a waiting list forever. their relationship was really good at one point but its not anymore :-( more info here

NORMAN/FERN: fern haaates norman because of the previously mentioned paperwork debacle but normans ass cant deal with the thought of anyone disliking him so hes just been really trying to get on his good side to no avail. also theyre coworkers so its more relevant

MORTIMER/TRIP: man how do i even summarize this one. due to lore reasons that you can read about in the link provided in trips session they have a super weird dynamic present day. or at least on trips end, mortimer is just super friendly to them and it wigs her out.

TRIP/COTARD: OUGUIGHJ. AOAUYFGDSFHSJ. tragic sibliiings. man i dont even know if i can go into this. go here and here if you want to learn more about them. jesus

COTARD/COLIN: frienndsss :-] classic extrovert forcing themselves into introverts life trope a little bit. they play music together and its great. mina's also in their little group but the two of them are closer

KUIPER/RAMONA: have been described by my friend as being "nonromantic freak4freak" and this is true. theyre working together on the end of the world stuff. they also rope cotard into it but thats lore i havent talked much about yet. go here and here for more info about them.

Dude, there were even COMPLIMENTS IN THE TAGS ON THAT POST. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THAT BEFORE. It’s absolutely INSANE that I feel more welcomed here than I ever did in my previous fandoms, and I’ve only been here for like a month. This place is fucking awesome this shit RULES!!!

Honestly? It’s very hard to pick a favorite since they’re all so good. There are very little version I didn’t like. So…

Top 3 princesses: Nightmare (was my first one with the finished game, made me so mentally ill. I thought I’d hate this route but I loved her, and all the possible “hers” that can happen. I was already aware of the changing due to perspective thing so I had more room to feel bad for her.) and Adversary (I’m gay)

Possibly also Thorn, too. I think there are enough 3k analysis of her route out there that I don’t need to explain but she’s just jfjdjdkdkdk. Redemption is so good when it’s done right.

Top 3 Voices: Paranoid because he’s a mood and surprisingly useful, Stubborn because he’s funny and cheated death (LOVED seeing the narrator’s initial enthusiasm go downhill as he realized this guy Did Not Care about the world or anything other than the fight), Contrarian because he starts as just a funny prick but by the end of The Stranger he gets a lot more sympathetic I felt bad for him.

I don’t think he counts because I don’t typically like him but Broken in The Tower or even Apotheosis is so good.

to be honest.. i am not comfortable being associated with "hot takes" and "hard hitting opinions"... ^_^;; i havent been in years. they are just my opinions! i am not trying to be a contrarian or be against people or even make enemies. it is not ME vs THEM (or at least i hope it is not) (it feels like that sometimes due to self isolation)

its lead to a lot of people thinking that im some kind of jackass who can't have fun, im not comfortable with it at all, and i felt a distance form between me and people who thought i had high standards for everything or was even judging them behind their backs when i do not at all. it really is difficult...

i think its like, the frankness that comes from i guess, autism? (still grappling with this)

like for me, i just say what i think. and for a long time i wondered why it was so difficult for people to do the same. but i realized i have a detrimental lack of filter. honestly it is exhausting for me. because for me its a very normal thing!!! but to others i am asserting myself too much and it is a bit egotistical, like im obsessed with myself and what i think. you might think im self flagellating, but if you think about it logically, this is kind of what you think most of the time when someone is being a little overbearing. it is natural. i am not asking for pity here. i am stating it objectively. im not really looking for people telling me that i should not care. because i should and i do.

to me i am not making a statement when i say things. but growing up i realized to others i was constantly drawing some kind of line in the sand about everything. ahhh i want to cry... its like so hard...

thats why im so sensitive about how i come off to others... i feel like my words betray my intentions!!! im a normal person who likes to have fun and make jokes. im not some kind of elitist contrarian!!! i tried to be that because i thought thats what is likable and people praised me for it. its not fun and its not me!!! and in the end, people dont like it either!!!

people affirming my beliefs about calamity mod both on tumblr and twitter has been nice. im glad other people enjoy the game for more than just boss fights. its... exploring, its BUILDING, its... grinding <3 (even if GOD i lovethebossfights so much!! and heck, i love the calamity boss fights esp the infernum ones a lot!!! i need more bullet hell!!) i do ponder sometimes though if i force myself a Bit Too Much to build. out of like, wanting to prove that i am a... i dunno. some contrarian-ness. or just wanting to feel unique or... prove that im a person who Can build. the need to prove myself, even in a singleplayer world but eh, like. i dont need to prove myself and ultimately i DO get the desire to build a good house in terraria when i play it; its fun! which. is baffling to me cus i really dont like building in survival minecraft but eh survival mc is just too tedious. creative is fun though

so like, im not a faker. its just imposter syndrome about enjoying building since i admittedly DID need to force myself to get into it, so i wonder if theres still the old part of me that prefers to just stick to progression maybe its moreso that i healthily keep myself in check by nudging myself towards building to make sure i dont just solely do the bossfights and progression though even then, even if you dont build... theres still a lot of gameplay that calamity removes. like a lot of the exploration and looting so yeah i... i guess this is a vent post?? vaguely?? at this point?? i could probably let myself do a playthrough where i dont build, but i guess i sometimes worry that i'd end up failing to prove my point that the game is perfect and pylons are amazing and that the game motivates me to build really well. ...its a combination of my own motivation/desire , and the game permitting that desire, though, that makes building reasonable and fun. so yeah i could go back to doing playthroughs with a little less constant building... even if i do honestly enjoy building. because i shouldnt feel the need to force myself to constantly out of desperation to be proving that the game can include building but hm well i enjoy both types of play. and im not gonna suddenly lose my ability to play the game one way by playing it the other way. i could probably alternate my terraria runs between being more meaningful with builds and... more fast paced without stopping n smelling the roses

the way you talk about the characters is so real like sometimes I forget what the actual characters are like due to fanfiction and other stuff but like reading the stuff you write and going back to the show—the way you talk about them it really feels like watching sunny for the first time, like it feels like you understand the characters and are able to separate fannon/fanfics from the actual cannon way the characters are and it's so scrumptious, the hate you get is actually insane cause they're so real and I could read your indepth descriptions and little stuff you've noticed for hours, you slay so hard dude

i can definitely understand why people get mad if im out here being contrarian, especially if they've lived in fanon for so long, but it's really frustrating to have people argue shit that is just straight up canon, and i purposely don't tag my shit if i'm ranting or saying anything that can be misconstrued as "ship hate", so it's only reaching people who are already following me. i go back and check with the actual canon text like. very often. to make sure i'm not spouting bullshit, but i think. i just... enjoy canon too much to let myself slip into fanon, which tends to strip down characters and make them significantly less complex for the sake of shipping. i don't understand the appeal personally, but i'm also aroace, so you know.
